Hunger Games

Do you think that current events could have shaped the idea for and story of the book? Do you think this could ever happen to the America we know? Were there any positive features of the "New" Panem (America) that could benefit our society today?

  1. District 12 -- the only one we really get to know -- has such a sense of community. Everyone knows everyone and maybe without cellphones and internet and all of our personal distractions that make us turn more inward (and less interested in what's happening outside of ourselves) they function as an actual community, a society, a neighborhood.
